How long have you been playing on our Quantum Gaming HL2 RP server?: Three and a half day's.

Why do you want to join the MPF?

I would like to join the MPF to help the servers community stay as positive and helpful as it currently is. I would like to help maintain the peace and civilised nature of the server. This is also the only hl2rp server I play on and I believe the MPF would help give me ago at serious RP. I believe that becoming MPF will help me fully experience HL2RP.

What do you think we expect from you in the MPF?

I believe that you would expect me to;

• Use the power gained by being part of the MPF to responsibly help keep the server civilised and in accordance with the Half Life Rules.

• Help out any citizens with the server commands (applying, OOC, how to use /me and /it etc).

• To confiscate any contraband and carry out the appropriate punishment.

• To not FailRP and to role play correctly fearing higher ranked units.

• To help any citizens when they are in need.

• To make the right choices to suit the roleplay.

What is your character's backstory?

Hicks was born on the 5th of May 1991 and was the only son of Dr Louise and Prof Samuel Havachino. They lived just outside a small country town and for the first five year of his life everything was normal. Then on the 11th of July 1996 everything dramatically changed his family had been planning to have another child but it wasn’t due for another few months and then all of a sudden his mother feinted and when she woke up told his father that she was feeling ill. His mother was rushed to hospital and went into labour later that night. Apart from the feinting everything from then seemed to be going fine. At two am the next morning however his father was called into the theatre, his mother had feinted again in the middle of birth from exhaustion the doctors needed permission to do surgery although they said if the baby was not dead then it would suffer serious brain damage. His father gave them permission needless was he to know that that was the last time he would see his wife alive. The surgery was going to take four hours if everything went to plan, which it didn’t. At nine am the doctor came out covered in blood he had the strangest look on his face like he wished he could be anywhere else but here. Instantly his dad knew something was up he sprinted pass the doctor into the operating theatre in time to see two things, one a nurse holding a baby girl and two his wife lying dead on the table. His father had always been an emotional man an after losing his wife he just seemed to shut down. No matter what Xavier did there was nothing that would help. His father hardly ate and slowly died 3 years after the birth of Elizabeth. This left Xavier with no parents and a special needs toddler to look after at the age of eight.

Whereas most eight year olds would have just sat down and cried Hicks took it on his self to make sure that Elizabeth had the best life she could. The death of his father had not left him unscarred he constantly resented his father for leaving him and just hated the thought of how selfish he was. This though drove him to not be like his father and every time things got tough for him and Lizzy he would just think ‘don’t be like dad’. During his time on the streets he had one lucky year when he had managed to accumulate enough money to rent a room and after a large amount of reasoning he used the rest to join the army cadets for a year and saw this as an opportunity to have some social interaction. Sadly he couldn’t find a steady income and was forced back to the streets. Unfortunately there is only so much you can do living on the streets and constantly having to fight off people who would try to bash you when you have a disabled sister and in 2003 she sadly passed away after having a fit. Hicks went into a depression for the period of one year all he wanted was for someone to finally come and take control of his life. During this time he got very reckless with his own life and was constantly fighting and developed very good hand to hand combat skills. After his depression he finally after 16 years managed to take control of his emotions and now has no problems controlling himself, he also is very accepting of people after looking after his disabled sister. Although people may think he would be dumb he actually is not, he was a naturally gifted child and managed to save the majority his books from his parents’ home. Throughout the entire time he lived on the streets he still managed to study most nights and from this has become a rather intelligent person, from the sheer effort he put into making sure that he had an education even studying things that he didn’t know were actually taught in universities and not school.

This came three years later when the combine came, and forced him to move to city 08, unlike most people he saw it as a blessing finally someone was coming and taking control of his life. He could finally let others do the thinking and having a steady supply of food was new to him and only added to the fact that he saw this as something wonderful. At first he content to sit by while the combine ran things but as the years went on he got restless and longed to do something again. To him it seemed that the only way to give back to the combine was to join.

Any roleplay experience in the combine? No, this is the only HL2RP server I play on, however I believe this will be a great place to start.

** Union 05 looking confused nervously nods.

Sectorial<:: I would like to congratulate you and inform you that you are to report to a nova to commence further training.

Union05<:: Th-Thankyou s-sir!

Union05<:: W-was that all you wanted s-sir?

Sectorial<:: Yes, did you expect something else?

Union05<:: No sir.

Sectorial<:: Good, you are now dismissed. Get out of here you’re getting mud all over the floor.

**Union 05 salutes then turns and leaves through the door.

Give a roleplay example between an MPF and An anti-citizen:

**Union 05 begins his patrol walking out of the Nexus.

**As he rounds the corner he hears and faint cry for help from Civil Housing Block B.

**05 Runs towards the housing block and slowing down and pulling out his stun stick.

**He slowly opens the door checking both ways before entering.

**As he enters he hears the cry coming from the floor above.

** Just as the Unit begins up the stairs he sees an anti-citizen carrying a knife leaving the apartment he heard the cries from.

**The Anti-citizen sees him and with no-where else to go, he sprints up stairs.

**The 05 gives chase and as he reaches the top floor sees a door close.

**Believing the anti-citizen went in there, he walks steadily towards the door.

**He hears a sound behind him and turns around.

**Anti-citizen jumps at him attempting to stab him in the chest.

**Union 05 rolls 85 out of 100.

**Anti-citizen rolls 68 out of 100.

**The Union blocks the knife with his arm suffering only a minor cut.

**The Union attempts to shove man against wall.

**Union rolls 58 out of 100.

Explain your reason for joining the MPF:

I admire greatly the prowess of the combine and aspire to join them, I wish to help maintain the peace and to help keep the city civilised. I want to help the combine stop any Anti-citizens attempting to return the world to it old ways… the ways were I was forced to fight for my food. I have decided that the best way for me to thank the combine for all that they have done for me is to join them and to help them exterminate any Anti-citizens that oppose them.

Are you experienced in anything?

I have experience in hand to hand combat and some basic gun usage from living on the street and constantly being around gangs and other people, I have a years worth of cadet training that was a result of my ‘lucky year’ where I accumulated enough money to rent a room and to train in the army cadets and finally I have basic medical knowledge from looking after my sister who constantly needed medicine to survive.
